GETTING BEACH BABE READY-  SUMMER WEATHER IS HERE

OK....Sooooo my body isn't quite "beach ready" but my intentions are starting to kick in, especially with the beautiful weather we have been experiencing recently.
This year I have been determined NOT to leave my choice in beach attire to mid season, when I usually fall in absolute LOVE with a cosy that IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE in my size.

Years of experience have allowed my beach attire choices to become quite "honed" to the purposes I require as a beach goer (Yes, one really should think about these things). I'm going to share a few of my thoughts... you may like to consider these, before you make your own choices this season:

1. ACTION GIRL - This may come as a surprise to some of you... I love to actually get into the wave action at the beach. I'm not at all a "beach sitter"... with this in mind, my costume choice needs to be sturdy enough to withstand the crash of unexpected waves. Many a time in the past, my bikini has become askew in places that would probably just scare a few fellow swimmers if it happened today.

2. AGE - I'm not really too afraid of choices according to my age. These days, if it suits your style and body then anything goes. (Just dont count on me being the one wearing the crochet g-string bikini). Remeber too, the gorgeous Helen Mirrin at 63 wearing that stunning red bikini.

3. ACCESSORIES - I have become a bit guilty of being a bit "matchy matchy" with my beach attire. I like my towel, footwear, sunnies, hat and bag to have some link with the choice of beach wear I have on. I'm only talking "LINK" here... you don't want to look like you have tried too hard.

4. BEACH TO STREET - Many of the GOOD bikini designers these days have cleverly designed their garments to be worn a number of ways. Resorts, holidays destinations and even the iconic Bondi Beach have restaurants and bars close by. The last thing you want to do is go home and change into "appropriate" clothing off the beach. My choices are always determined by whether or not I can easily "dress up" my BEACH LOOK into a quick STREET APPROPRIATE LOOK.

WHAT I BOUGHT

This year I have selected the SEAFOLLY COSTA MAYA HIGH NECK MALLIOT. $159.95
This striking one piece has a waffle finish to the fabric, a soft cup bra inside (a nice little boost especially when cosies become wet), a high neck feature (fashionable AND demure) with a low V back ( a little bit sexy but not over the top).

I also purchased a cute pair of boardies by BILLABONG. $49.95
A fantastic staple purchase - especially if the waxing hasn't happened...if you know what i mean.

MIXING UP THE LOOK

The neckline of this costume is quite a fashionable style in street wear at the moment. This means I could dress up my look for cocktails after the beach with a pair of black pants or my short Country Road black pleated skirt. Slip on some low heels, a slick of "FACE IT with HAIR FLAIR" lipstick and slide some Redken "loose endings 09 defining cream" through my hair and we're set to go.

WHAT NEXT?

I must also mention... don't tell Mr G... but I now have my eye on another one piece that is the complete antithesis of this SEAFOLLY one. It's a MINK PINK pastel floral number with a built in bralet feature.

Well, we do spend a lot of time at the beach in summer.....

I hope some of my thoughts and ideas helped. Let me know what you think.

Nicole.
