PREPARE TO GET THE HOT GOSS ON 'STROBING'

The LATEST buzz word in the makeup industry is called "STROBING"
Don't be alarmed or scared about THIS one because "strobing" is a lot easier & quicker to do than our old fav "CONTOURING".
It could may turn out that you have had a few goes, quite unwittingly, using this technique on a number of occasions.

BASICALLY..... STROBING IS ALL ABOUT HIGHLIGHTING.

You can see some "strobing" effects on my editorial model Princess Ella.
Cheeks, nose, forehead and chin were highlighted so that she didn't appear flat on camera.

WHY STROBE?

This makeup technique has usually been reserved for evenings or special occasions. A subtle highlight on the cupids bow of your lip and the inner corners of the eye added a certain glamour to a night time look.

As summer approaches (not soon enough) I can definately see the merits in a bit of "strobing". Summer is a time to look fresh and dewy and alive. The heavy applications of a contour will look silly against a backdrop of floaty fabrics and sunkissed hair. There is also less chance of going wrong with this technique. All you really need to do is focus on the areas that light naturally hits your face.

If you take note of the diagram above, you can see just how easy it is.
1. Apply your chosen highlighter, as per diagram.
2. Add blush to the apples of your cheeks and blend.
3. Spritz with a setting spray (NOT HAIRSPRAY) to seal your look for the day. "Face It with Hair Flair" have a lovely vitamin infused spray that is good for the skin as well as setting your makeup. A great product to use in the summer months.

WHAT PRODUCT SHOULD I USE?

There are a number of different products available for this technique. It really depends on what YOU are most comfortable using.

My favourite at the moment is the "FACE IT with HAIR FLAIR" pressed powder ILLUMINATOR in "GOLDEN GLOW".

Talc and Paraben FREE

Another product "FACE IT with HAIR FLAIR" have in stock is the cream consistancy of the CANDLE GLOW HIGHLIGHTER in "GOLD". (other shades are available upon request). This is probably a good choice for those of you who are still mad CONTOURING QUEENS because you can actually blend this product in with your foundation.
