SHHH...I'M ONLY SHARING THIS WITH YOU

What eyeshadow colours are BEST for everyday use?
Quite often, I am asked about the shades I choose to use, particularly the day to day colours. I'm going to share the eyeshadows I personally use EVERYDAY and why.

THE NUETRAL PALETTE

The absolute starting palette should be the nudes/nuetrals - especially if you are a mature woman or work in an industry where a natural look is required. These colours are also perfect if you are a novice in the application of your own makeup.

FACE IT WITH HAIR FLAIR MAKEUP

Of course I CHOOSE the FACE IT WITH HAIR FLAIR range. The reason I wear my own range is because of the research I put into my product. Our eyeshadows are TALC & PARABEN FREE. The colour choices are extensive and very versatile. An eyeshadow can double as a bronzer, contour, blush or even when mixed with an activator; used as a liquid liner. The pigments are rich in colour and can easily be blended and layered.

WHERE DO I START?

For an everyday look I choose to line my upper lash-line first with Black Kohl eyeliner pencil. This way, when I add my eyeshadow and blend everything, the line has a softer look for day.

Next, I apply MINK MATTE to my lid. (see diagram above) This is my most favourite colour of all. If you are in a BIG hurry or going to the beach, you can actually get away with just this colour.

Can you tell this is my fav?
        MINK MATTE

To add some daytime definition, I then apply ACORN MATTE to my crease and extend it a little higher when my eyes are a little puffy looking. This is a soft brown shade and great for daytime.

       Another obvious fav!
           ACORN MATTE

To finish off, I then apply FRENCH VANILLA MATTE up to my browbone, being careful to blend amongst a little of where the ACORN MATTE ended.

   FRENCH VANILLA MATTE

As an added definer, I choose to line my lower lashline with a little ACORN MATTE, I find black liner too harsh for day and NEVER line my water line in black either. If I want to add a little colour, this is where I will use a soft green to highlight my green eyes. Complete the look with a slick of mascara.

TIPS AND TRICKS

I used to be a devoted SPONGE girl for makeup application, however I find a BRUSH gives a more professional finish and helps to blend colours smoothly. A sponge can often become overloaded with pigment. It is better to layer colours than try to remove them.

What if I'm going out straight from work? The perfect colour to add here is ANTIQUE GOLD, simply apply to the lid where the MINK MATTE was. This colour is sure to make your eyes POP with night time glam.

I recently heard celebrity makeup artist RAY MORRIS advise ladies over 40 not to use a highlighter under the brow bone. She stated that as we age, this area can become a little puffy and adding a highlighter will only accentuate this.

HOW CAN I HAVE ALL THIS?

At HAIR FLAIR we can arrange single palette colours OR with a pre-order, a little compact can be made up. The choices are endless.
