WHAT IS ROSACEA?
Rosacea is a chronic, inflammatory skin condition which mainly affects the face. Rosacea causes facial redness and can produce red bumps, often mistaken for acne, eczema or an allergy.
Stress, red wine, too much coffee, extreems in temperature, not drinking enough water...... all contribute to making the condition worse. WHO GETS IT?
Rosacea can affect anyone...male or female... usually those with fair skin and more common in those after the age of thirty. WHY IT'S COOL RIGHT NOW? WHAT?
Wow ....doing research on this topic has just made me feel a WHOLE LOT BETTER
about myself. You see, I was the one that everyone USED
to call a CHINA DOLL
because my skin was so perfect and white. A few years back...I experienced my first rosacea breakout. I had it under control too, after initial applications of a special cream and a low dose antibiotic I thought I'd kicked the whole thing to the curb. That is until I bragged in one of my blogs recently about how great my skin has been! Grrrrrrr...... Next week....POP, POP, POP HELLO ROSACEA
my old nemisis.
Anyway... I decided to do a bit of research about it and discovered that many celebrities
are fighting the SAME
skin issues as me! The likes of Cameron Diaz, Renee Zelleger, Cynthia Nixon, Prince William AND the late Princess Diana to name just a few. So.... being the positive person I am/try to be......
I'm feeling like part of a special group.
All jokes aside, it can be quite a socially debilitating thing to deal with. Being shy to start with doesn't help either.(Not that I'm too shy these days, but I do have my moments) WHAT TO DO NEXT?
I'm so grateful for my makeup line "Face It with Hair Flair"
because my Miracle Foundation Creme Compact
(Besterest Makeup Friend Ever). Not only does it give amazing
coverage (those with Rosacea will know how difficult it is to get good cover), it also contains calming ingredients that don't irritate skin that is already irritated (Grape Seed, Green Tea, Pomegranate plus vitamins).
THAT'S NOT ALL
I have recently made a NEW
discovery on how to beat this issue. I don't want to just cover up...I want to get rid of it! It's a treatment called RED LIGHT THERAPY
which uses LED LIGHT
on the skin in a series of up to nine sessions.
Watch out for my next post ALL ABOUT RED LIGHT THERAPY
