LET ME SEE THE LIGHT
My previous blog was all about a skin condition called ROSACEA....
and feeling desperately vulnerable to the affects it was having on my skin. My makeup range "FACE IT with HAIR FLAIR
" was doing an AMAZING
job at disguising and calming the skin, but at the same time I wanted to get rid of the problem all together.
I recently stumbled upon this fabulous treatment for skin through a lovely lady called "Mel". It's called OMNILUX LIGHT THERAPY.
WHAT IS IT?
Omnilux is a device that uses a light emitting diode (LED) technology. It works with the body's own natural processes to counteract the effect of damaged skin. This is a Non-Invasive
therapy(step away from my face with that scaple) with NO PAIN
(thank goodness or I would not be doing it) and NO DOWNTIME
(you can carry on with normal duties, even go straight back to work...blah... because there is no visable redness or signs of a procedure).
The process is quick and simple. Nine treatments are usually recommended in a short time frame with long lasting benefits. BONUS BONUS BONUS
What I didn't know about this particular type of treatment were ALL
side effects that were to come with it.
Let me share a FEW
of them with you:
*Reduced Fine Lines and Wrinkles. (can't wait)
*Promotes Collagen Production. (beautiful plump skin-like a babies bottom)
*Improves Skin Tone and Evens Out Pigmentation. (Yay...I want to be rid of some pigmentation)
*Increased Radiance. (I am positively glowing already)
*Firms and Tightens Aged Skin. (no face lift needed here)
*Effective Acne treatment, Killing off the bacteria that causes acne. (will keep this in mind for my teenage daughter)
*Can help treat those winter blues. (you just FEEL
so damn good afterwards)WHAT'S IT REALLY LIKE?
I'll take you briefly through my experience so far.......TREATMENT ONE:
Mel gave me a full rundown of HOW
the procedure works and WHAT
to expect. Lying down on the treatment bed in comfortable surrounds I am given a Deep Cleansing Massage, Miracle Blueberry Mask (smells so good) and then the Omnilux procedure.
OMG... OMG...The Light is sooooo bright (eye protection is used, it's a bit like when you wear your sunnies at the beach) as Mel reassuringly holds my hand as those first few seconds of fear subside into a blissful warm sensation. 20 minutes of peace ensue, it's like being transported back to a tropical island getaway (minus the cocktails).....although my lovely friend Karen offered to bring me one next time...., a delicate hand massage with essential oils (by Mel....NOT
the hot lifeguard....I mean Mr G.... in THAT
tropical daydream) and lovely tranquil music in the background.
The treatment is concluded with a moisturiser, eye cream and a light mineral face powder.
Driving home was a bit of a daze..... I'm enjoying this already.TREATMENT TWO:
Today I am given a Deep Cleansing Massage and a light exfoliation instead of the mask.
I know what to expect now.... so the initial light shock isn't as scary and my eyes seem to adjust a lot quicker this time. Once again I'm off on a warm journey of peace.....don't fall asleep....don't drool.
I think I might wear my NEW SHADE
of COSMOPLITAN LIPSTICK
By "Face It with Hair Flair
" to enhance the tropical mood.TREATMENT THREE:
Words can't describe how happy I am with my skin RIGHT NOW.
has signifiantly diminished ALREADY
and my skin feels wonderful. I have even been bold enough to go back to the SUPER SHORT
hairstlye that I love thanks to Mr G
at Hair Flair Bradbury
. I FEEL
I still have seven more treatments to go so I can't wait to see my end results.
I'm sooooo glad I met Mel. Nicole
