ANY EXCUSE TO PARTY
Halloween is becoming a growing trend in Australia as far as celebrations go.
The occasion is celebrated every year on the evening of the 31st of October.
Formally known as ALL HALLOW'S EVENING.
Interestingly enough, the Catholic Church celebrates two special days on either side of the Halloween tradition.
The 30th of October is celebrated as ALL SAINTS DAY
are honoured for their deeds, in particular, Saints that do not have a specific Feast Day assigned. November 1st is celebrated as ALL SOULS DAY
whereby deceased family and friends are remembered.
It is believed, in the ancient Celtic times Halloween was the night where boundaries between the worlds of the living and the dead overlapped and the deceased came back to cause havoc - for one night. TRADITIONAL HALLOWEEN ACTIVITIES
* TRICK OR TREATING (Yes kiddies, knock on a strangers door and ask for free candy)
* COSTUME PARTIES
* VISITING "HAUNTED HOUSES"
* CARVING JACK-O-LANTERNSHOW WE DO IT IN AUSTRALIA
Funnily enough at the time of writing this blog, I got an invitation to my friend Mels' HALLOWEEN HOUSE PARTY
(Great minds think alike)
There are lots of different ways we chose to celebrate this occasion. Mostly it is a great excuse to dress up and party.
One year my Zumba Fitness class dressed up and we danced the night away.
Another year, my fellow makeup enthusiast and bestie (Sandra) and I trundled all the way into Sydney to Marquee Niteclub to delight the HALLOWEEN
guests with our crazy makeup techniques.
