On Monday I found myself transported into Wonderland at Bondi Westfield while Mr G went off to a conference nearby. My mission was to begin scouting for a new winter wardrobe, having recently culled a stack of clothing.
When you reach your 40's it can be quite difficult to maintain a "fashionable image" without looking like you have tried too hard. Clothing that is too tight, too short & too young are no go zones. It is important to know what fabrics and styles suit you best. Key colours and images are good to have in the back of your mind as this helps narrow your focus.
I went in with Girly Retro, The Great Gatsby era, Sports Luxe & French influence as my style "likes". I also knew that panelled clothing is fashionable as well as slimming, Merlot is a winter colour must have & tailored clothing looks "dressed". Sloppy is not an option.
Upon reflection, I decided my fringe needs tweaking to complete the image I want to create. A quick consultation with Mr G confirmed my thoughts and he has given me a couple of options to consider. This blog may give you a few ideas to consider when you too make your winter purchases. Remember: It is not necessarily about how much money you SPEND but how you feel when you present yourself to the world.
