EASY PEASY KALE SALAD - FOR THE RELUCTANT COOK
Here's the deal.... I've literally grown the stuff in my herb garden, cooked with it in my soups and tried a few fancy things with KALE
in stir fry's. We ALL know it is supposed to be good for you but I was yet to be fully convinced in the taste stakes. THAT was until I frequented my FAV hotel/pub in the world recently... "THE PADDINGTON INN"
. My fav hotel/pub? Well, it's where I actually met MR G
if you really want to know!
Anyway, my son ordered the steak and it happened to come with KALE SALAD
. Of course he didn't go near it, but just by looking at it I had to TRY
. What a flavour sensation that was. I actually couldn't stop thinking about THAT SALAD over the next few days and set about trying to RE-CREATE the flavours from memory.
What I created was awesome - of course - but I didn't quite hit the mark. So today I was brave enough to actually phone the Chef himself to see if he would part with his AMAZE
recipe. What a sweetie, he did. I was a little bit off the mark but had SOME key elements in my own creation.
I'm going to SHARE MY VERSION
with you, purely because I really like my recipe. Give it a go and let me know what you think. I'll be trying "The Paddington Inn" version for myself in the next few days. So I will let you know how THAT goes soon. INGREDIENTS
